Versace Fall 2013 show

Versace stays true to its style as the brand shows the Fall 2013 collection at Milan Fashion Week. Consisting of patent leather pieces, metallic details and wild prints the new collection is pretty much ‘fashion meets rock show’.

The line includes strict coats, sexy lacquered dresses and leather suits decorated with chains, leather pants with studded side panels, wild tops, and occasional animal prints in loud colors and combinations.

Detailing and accessories are made of metal. Spikes are a running theme in the entire collection and come in everything from footwear to bracelets and chokers, and as elements of clothes. Even earrings are made in a shape of huge spikes.
There are also chains, studs, and giant bolt-shaped pins decorating the clothes. Fur and leather trims are used in blazers, skirts and heeled sandals.
The footwear ranges from pointed shoes to studded and spiked boots, some featuring a metal cap toe to ankle to thigh high boots. The footwear definitely complements the clothes and the accessories.
The handbags are made in lacquered leather and trimmed with fur. The styles include clutches and small backpacks. The accessories also include stylish shades in medium size flattering shape.

The collection includes some wild fur coats in a wild zebra print as well as a patent leather trench and a studded leather jacket with monochrome patterned fur sleeves.

There are, of course, some dresses and gowns designed in a daring style of the collection. The two such dresses closed the show. Made in white and black patent leather the similar style dresses featured clear panels and high necks.

Versace’s Fall 2013 collection is consistent and has some very cool designs. Of course, it’s quite extravagant, but then again Versace is all about edge and drama.

What do you think about its Fall 2013 collection?

Zuhair Murad Fall 2013 Couture Collection

There must be something in the Lebanese culture that raises such a strong aesthetic appreciation we can spot in both Zuhair Murad’s and Elie Saab’s works. To be honest, it was some kind of deja vu that hit me, when I saw Murad’s collection. Those floor-length gowns embroidered and embellished; models’ hair twisted in buns; and a bride closing the show – I have already seen it somewhere. But there is a difference, pretty obvious to anyone’s eye. Zuhair Murad offers a bolder style, elegant yet edgy. Hairstyle is not that sleek, eyes are heavily lined, and it is not all about classic gowns. Sheer panels, cut-outs, and thigh-high slits add some alternative zest to the whole collection.

A bodysuit along with a fur mantle over creates a very contradictory image. On one hand, we see a sophisticated woman with an exquisite taste, who wears fur in a casual manner. On the other hand, she pairs it with a sheer suit, revealing more than it covers, so matter-of-factly as if it was something ordinary to do. Well, if this is her way to impress people, why not? It is all about being in love with herself, after all.
A blue turtleneck dress with long sleeves – classically boring? It might have been, if it wasn’t all see-through. If you wear such a frock, it will be pretty hard to tell what people are apprising – the dress or your voluptuous curves. Either way, it is worth to try and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
A beautiful strapless mermaid gown in silver attracts attention of thousands of people. I would totally opt for this dress, if I had to attend a fashionable party. For one reason, I love bustier dresses the most. Another thing that I adore about this awesome piece of clothing is its intricate design as well as the color choice.
