SIX SENSES LAAMU Maldives

Hotel Six Senses Laamu is a luxury hotel in the Maldives, 45 minutes from Male International Airport. This slice of paradise is set in an expanse of sparkling Indian Ocean.

Standing alone as the only resort on the virtually uncharted Laamu atoll, the Six Senses Laamu is the latest must-visit destination in the Indian Ocean.

Located on Olhuveli Island, a place of outstanding natural beauty, powder white sand, lush tropical vegetation and crystal clear water, the Six Senses Laamu is an eco-friendly luxurious resort.

Its 97 villas, built with the Six Senses signature of sustainable design, are nestled either on the Olhuveli beach or over the brilliant turquoise waters of the island’s lagoon. Choose between the beach villas, which have private access to the beach, water villas, fitted with sunken, ocean-view, all-glass bathtubs or the Two-Bedroom Beach Villa with its own private pool. Complete privacy is afforded whilst you indulge in all the creature comforts that luxury has to offer.

Wining and Dining at Six Senses Laamu is a predominantly panoramic, over-water affair as well, where service is second-to-none and all tastes are well catered to. Enjoy an exquisite evening at Altitude, the resort’s unique wine ‘cellar’ rising 6 metres out of the ocean and be served by flying wine-waiters.

Diving, snorkelling and swimming in and around the pristine coral reef are quite literally the best in the Maldives. Other than that, Six Senses Laamu offers you a myriad of activities to keep you entertained – from a ‘nesting’ experience in the renowned Six Senses Spa to a relaxed evening on a private boat watching frolicking dolphins. There is also a special play time Den, suitable for all ages and supervised at all times for your little ones to enjoy.

Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France

A new maison for the Cheval Blanc collection
Joining the Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives and the Cheval Blanc Courchevel, the 36-room ski-in ski-out Maison in Courchevel 1850, 15 October 2014 will see the unveiling of Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France, a new Maison for the Cheval Blanc collection.

Capitalizing on the property’s tremendous assets, the Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France has since been undergoing a series of enhancements that will culminate this summer before it re-opens for the new season in October.

A completely new Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France

Acquired in July 2013 by LVMH, the Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France completed a 3 year refurbishment by leading British interior designer Bee Osborn in 2013 that saw the renovation of all public areas as well as the villas, suites and rooms (each individually designed) in the hotel’s inimitable character, combining West Indian charm and unpretentious South of France style.

The Maison’s new colour palette combines Cheval Blanc’s signature taupe with a daring blush pink – created just for Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France – that strikingly enhances the Maison’s trademark blue. This new color scheme pays tribute to the Caribbean turquoise waters and colorful local façades.
Well-known for its highly personalized service and laid-back spirit, the Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France enjoys an idyllic setting on one of the finest beaches in the Caribbean. Facing the Flamands beach, nestled in the tropical garden or perched on the hillside overlooking the bay, the Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France features 40 spacious rooms, suites and villas, either with panoramic views of Flamands Beach or nestled in the lush gardens.

The Maison is also home to La Case de I’Isle restaurant, a local favorite, which serves Caribbean-inflected French cuisine in a dining room with superb ocean views, La Cabane de l’Isle for feet-in-the-sand lunches and the White Pool Bar, with its entertaining weekly fashion shows.

The fabulous Flamands Villas

For those seeking privacy and exclusivity, the Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France offers you one of the premier beachfront villas on St Barths. Located right on the beach, the two beautiful Flamands Villas are offering  privacy, exclusivity, grand views, and divine luxury.
This spectacular three bedroom beachfront villa provides guests with a elegantly casual but chicly sophisticated accommodation. Designed by Penny Morrison, the Flamands villas boast three bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms showcasing stone bath tub, double vanity sink and dressing area. The suites include a home cinema room, fitness room and a kitchen with high end appliances.

To top it all, each villa has a private plunge pool and a direct beach access to Flamands beach, one of the island’s best beaches, as well as direct access to the hotel’s beach side restaurant Le Cabane de l’Isle for blissful beach side lounging and dining.
The sensuous and resplendent Isle de France Hotel on Flamands Beach offers a premiere retreat to relax and celebrate life. Villa Flamands allows guests the best of both worlds by offering one of the best beachfront villas on St Barths with the all the amenities of the island’s best hotel.

To spend your holidays in one of the Flamands Villas, you will have to spend an amount close to Euro 7000 (8000$) per night. With this kind of continuous upgrading, the Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France has become one of the most sought-after spots in the Caribbean.

Amilla Fushi, Luxury Resort in the Maldives

There are plenty of marvelous resorts on the beautiful tropical islands that comprise the Maldives (many of them we’ve showcased in the past).

Perhaps the youngest of them all is Amilla Fushi Resort, which has just opened on February 1st this year.

Like most other high-end Maldivian retreats, Amilla Fushi is surrounded by lush vegetation, as well as excellent white sandy beaches which are themselves caressed by the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Accommodations include both 12-meter-high tree houses and ocean villas offering immediate access to the shoreline. Whichever you choose depends mostly on which part of the island you’re particularly interested in, since all of them are comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed. The service, meanwhile, is irreproachable and dining options are first-rate.

Though this is new resort, Amilla Fushi is no gamble, but another great addition to the excellent selection of travel destinations strewn across the Maldives.
